Oh man- this was just what I needed. Jack was the first newborn I’ve photographed well in over a year, since before my Crofton was born. I have been so excited about this session ever since Kelly e-mailed me with news of her pregnancy, but when she said this I knew things would be perfect:
“I never want to forget just how tiny he is… his sweet little lips and his little fingers and fingernails and his teeny little back. I love newborn backs (is that weird?!)! I want to remember his wrinkly knees and tiny feet and his little wrinkles in his forehead when he is looking around. I want to remember how tired I was those first few weeks so I can look back and be grateful for the experience… I want to remember how fresh everything was: the baby, parenthood, the excitement.”
That is everything I want when I get to work with new families. It’s everything I want when I photograph my own family.
I won’t ramble on about how perfect Kelly and Andy’s little son is. I will just show you. (And for the record, I love newborn backs, too.)
(This just says tired and happy mama and I adore it.)
Thank you, guys, for having me in your home.
